Foods we graze on in front of the telly are often very high in fat. These yoghurt bites are easy to make and tasty, but far lower in calories than other snacks and contain beneficial nutrients such as calcium. Therefore they are a great alternative if you are trying to watch your weight or want a more nutritious children’s snack.

Preparation time: 5 minutes + freezing time

 

Ingredients

Any flavoured yoghurt (low fat)
Any fruits or berries you might want to add

 

 

Method:
1. Line a baking tray with cling film and place in the freezer until cold (20min).

2. Spread the yoghurt thickly over the Clingfilm lined tray, leaving a border around the edge of the tray.

3. Return the tray to the freezer and Freeze for 2-3 hours. Once frozen solid, the yoghurt will easily peel away from the tray, break into pieces. Eat immediately or you can store in an airtight container in the freezer.

Alternatively use a piping bag to pipe the yoghurt on to cling film into small buttons. You can get the kids involved and play around with the shapes, making them an even more fun snack.
