In 2012 the Dr Foster Guide, an independent annual report detailing trends and changes across the healthcare sector reported on independent providers for the first time. The Horder Centre was named as one of the country’s best providers as a result of the consistently high quality outcomes it had been able to demonstrate.
In June 2011 the Prime Minister, David Cameron, in a speech to NHS staff drew attention to ways in which independent providers can help to raise standards of healthcare by providing a “mixed economy of providers”. To illustrate his point he referred to “the independent Horder Centre in East Sussex which delivers orthopaedic care and has high patient satisfaction, low rates of readmission and excellent outcomes”.
The staff of the Centre at all levels strive to maintain this ethos of compassionate and high quality care and are honoured to note that their efforts are noted at the very highest level of government.
