Horder Healthcare has been shortlisted for the health and wellbeing scheme of the year in a national award.
The charity’s “Exercise at your desk” computer programme has been entered in the category which is part of the national Pay and Benefits Awards.
The programme, that was launched earlier this year, was designed in conjunction with the charity’s physiotherapy team. It actively encourages office staff to take regular breaks for short bursts of physical activity. The exercises, which regularly pop up on staff computers, include light cardio, posture, stretches and circulation, and are designed to prevent repetitive strain injury and promote wellbeing.
The winners will be announced on March 5 2015 at the Victoria Plaza Hotel in London.
It is the first time that the charity, which celebrates its 60th birthday this year, has entered the Pay and Benefits Awards.
Glenda Rogers, HR Manager for Horder Healthcare, said: “As a healthcare charity, health at work for all our team is of paramount importance so we are really thrilled to have been shortlisted for this unique exercise programme we have produced for staff.”
