Becoming a private patient

As a private patient, you don't have to wait for our outstanding care. You will get a tailored, guaranteed price for treatment based on your condition, following an initial consultation and pre-op diagnostics.

Our dedicated private patient wing, 'The Ashdown Suite', offers self pay and privately insured patients an enhanced level of comfort and dedicated care.

Finance options available

To make private healthcare more accessible, we have introduced a finance option to spread the cost of your treatment over a period of time.

Self-paying patients at Horder Healthcare are now able to take out loans that cover all fees, including the consultant, anaesthetist and hospital fees. The loan products include interest-free options, with repayment periods of 6, 10 or 12 months, and interest-bearing loans repayable over 24, 36, 48 and 60 months, currently with an APR of 12.9%. Subject to approval.

How to book

As a self pay patient you can ask your GP to refer you, if appropriate, to Horder Healthcare, informing them that you will be paying for the procedure or service yourself. Your GP can then write an ’open referral letter’ which will advise on the treatment you require. You can request a specific consultant if you wish or your GP may suggest a particular consultant, in which case this will be a ‘direct referral letter’. You will then be contacted by Horder Healthcare to arrange an appointment, or you can contact us directly at a time that suits you. Physiotherapy appointments are available to book without GP referral.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have and help you manage the financial aspect of your treatment. Please do not hesitate to contact us on 01892 620934 for further advice or email pp@horder.co.uk for a personalised quote and details on procedures.

What our patients say

  • Paul Bonett

Hip Replacement (total) | The Horder Centre

“I have already recommended The Horder Centre to friends. I had a super experience there. The personal attention and very nice accommodation made it very different.

My fitness was pretty compromised before the operations but I took the rehabilitation very seriously and since then have been able to return to my aikido training and teaching with renewed vigour, plus daily cycling and some running, though keeping to under five miles. It all shows the efficacy of great surgery and focused rehab.”

  • Patient stories: Jim Eldridge

    Jim Eldridge

Knee Replacement (total) | The Horder Centre

“My experience at The Horder Centre was excellent, from my surgeon, Mr Gibb, and the neatness of the operation, to the physiotherapy and the post-operative care. The operation has made an incredible difference to me. Before, I could not even walk 50 yards because it was so painful. Now I am walking pain-free.”

  • Chris Briggs

    Ophthalmology | The McIndoe Centre

Mr Lake was very clear in his explanation of what the operation would entail and we discussed the various options of different lenses so that I could choose what was best for me. I was a day patient both times and the care was really excellent from start to finish.

I don’t need to wear glasses now and can thoroughly recommend The McIndoe to anyone who has cataracts. The operations have really made a difference to my life.”

  • Colin Quickfall

Hip Replacement (total) | The Horder Centre

“The Horder Centre was recommended to me by friends who had said how good it was. I found everyone so pleasant and they just had time for me. It felt like a private hospital and it’s in such a lovely position in the country. I would definitely recommend it.”
