In the past Andy has studied a number of soft and hard style martial arts including Wing Chun, Ki Aikido, Sports Judo, Traditional English Quarterstaff, and Gracie Jiu Jitsu.

He was taught the Yang style Tai Chi short (Cheng) form and long form at the British Tai Chi Chuan Association in London between 1985 and 1992 and the 18 Stance Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi form by Chris Jarmey of the European Shiatsu School around 1995.

Andy is a Shiatsu Society UK registered practitioner and teacher as well as a registered massage therapist with the Complementary Therapists Association. In the past he has used remedial massage, shiatsu and tai chi in his work with elderly people within the NHS as well as in private healthcare.

Andy was a senior lecturer and clinic tutor at the University of Westminster - from 1999 to 2011 - for the School of Integrated Health and the School of Life Sciences where he also taught students qigong.

He is a qualified teacher (PGCHE) and between 1994 and 2007 taught shiatsu, qigong and tai chi for the European Shiatsu School in London, Kent, Devon and the Cork School of Shiatsu in Eire as well as in adult education for City and Islington College, London.
