Corporate volunteering

We are proud to have established links with local companies who have supported us with their involvement in various volunteer projects.

Different companies and organisations have offered their support with various gardening and refurbishment projects as part of their Corporate Responsibility Programmes:

Members of staff from EDF Energy’s London office came to offer their assistance in July. Their day’s hard work was part of the company’s ‘Helping Hands’ programme which entitles every member of staff to use two days of company time each year to volunteer in their local communities. The team spent their time in relentless sunshine brushing down and repainting the exterior of a disused building, in preparation for it to be renovated, and clearing the garden area of overgrown ivy and shrubbery.

Cripps employees are entitled to a days leave to partake in ‘Action Days’ with community organisations and have kindly offered their support on two separate occasions. Cripps supported us with a gardening project in 2013 and we were pleased to have them back for more this year! The team (below) planted a wide range of herbs for our new kitchen and themed courtyard garden and tidied up the garden area that they had helped build last year.

Baker Tilly (right) joined us from the Tunbridge Wells office in August. The staff always have a team building day every few months and used the opportunity to offer their help to us as part of their organisations pledge to engage with local charities.  The team had a very busy morning painting walls of the hospital that were in desperate need of some TLC.

Back in 2012 a group from Tonbridge Grammar School (TGS) took part in the school’s “Giving Scheme” that encourages students to carry out volunteer work for local charities. The team of girls spent the day sanding and varnishing benches and painting exterior walls of the Centre.

We are really grateful to all of the organisations who have given us their time to complete projects like this, that we may not have the resources to otherwise complete. The work they do really contributes to our vision of creating a therapeutic environment that fosters health and well being at the Centre. Those that help also hopefully learn a little more about the services we offer and our charity values and we get to work closely with our local community.

There is always an opportunity available if companies or school groups would like to offer their support as part of their Corporate Responsibility Programme and we would welcome any enquiries from organisations looking for a challenge!
