The Horder Centre carries out more NHS joint replacement operations than any other single site independent provider in England.
The most recent figures, compiled by the National Joint Registry, compared 156 independent providers from across England.
Evidence shows that in 2013 The Horder Centre carried out 1,811 hip and knee operations, compared to the second highest provider that performed 1,264 operations.
Compared with all hospitals in England, including the largest teaching NHS establishments, The Horder Centre was seventh highest in terms of the total number of operations including hip and knee operations completed by a single site provider.
Patients choose to be treated at The Horder Centre and are referred by their GP under the NHS Patient Choice scheme.
Horder Healthcare Chief Executive Diane Thomas said: “As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, it is a remarkable achievement that The Horder Centre is performing more NHS operations than any other single site independent provider in the country. We pride ourselves on our high standards of care, that would not be possible without the dedication of the entire team at Horder Healthcare.”
In a national survey completed last year, nearly 97% of patients said they were extremely likely to recommend The Horder Centre which consistently achieved within the top five places of the league table of NHS Trusts for the highest scoring Friends and Family recommendations from April to December 2013.
