We are currently looking for volunteers to help with:
- IT administration and data entry
- Comfort rounds in the ward
- Assistance with gardening
Our volunteers do not require any qualifications and any necessary training will be given. All prospective volunteers are invited to come and meet Claire for an informal chat to discuss the type of volunteering work they would like to do and to ensure that the roles on offer are a good match for their skills. All volunteers must be 16 or over and must have a Disclosure Barring Service check (DBS) which we will arrange.
We are very proud that we are able to offer students a volunteer experience that will benefit them in their choice of career in medicine or nursing. Students that volunteer with us have the chance to experience a clinical environment and see the workings of a hospital and they will also get the opportunity to interact with patients and staff including consultants and nurses.
Patient Journey Support
The Patient Journey Support role involves offering support and assistance to our patients. This can mean chatting to them about their operation and recovery, helping to unpack belongings and ensuring they are comfortable in their room. All these things make a great deal of difference to how our patients feel prior to surgery.
We are happy to consider volunteers aged 16 or over but you must have a mature attitude to fit the role. We try to be as flexible as we can around school and college life offering times in the evenings and at weekends, but we would ask that you are sure you can commit to a volunteer role with us before you apply.
Please contact us at email@example.com to discuss opportunities further.
Could your professional skills help shape the future of Horder Healthcare?
Can you offer expert advice and assistance in a volunteer capacity to help support our corporate services work towards advancing health? We are always grateful to those who can use their professional experience to offer advice and volunteer with us. If you would like to discuss professional volunteering opportunities in more detail or you would like to apply, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All volunteers based at a Horder Healthcare site will be subject to a DBS Check.
We offer our volunteers the following benefits (depending on location):
- Travel expenses paid
- Free lunch
- Free parking onsite
- Free use of the onsite gym and discounted fitness classes
Claire Middleton, our Talent Advisor, looks after all of our volunteers and is the initial point of contact for new starters. Once volunteers are established in their roles they are then fully supported by the manager of the department they are volunteering in. Claire continues to meet with volunteers on a regular basis to ensure everything is running smoothly and answer any questions they have.
If you are interested in a volunteering role at Horder Healthcare we would love to hear from you. Please contact Claire Middleton at email@example.com
