
Elin Richardson joined Horder Healthcare in January 2018 as Head of Business and Commercial Development. Elin graduated from the NHS Management Training Scheme in 2000, and spent a further 18 years in various management roles in the NHS including general management, service improvement and business development. Elin took on the role as Hospital Director for The McIndoe Centre during the COVID response in 2020 and remained lead for sales, marketing, contracting and business development for Horder Healthcare. In January 2025 added Deputy CEO to her portfolio and then took over as CEO in July 2025.
Elin enjoys going to the gym, reading, travelling, theatre arts and spending time with friends and family.

Paul Gable joined Horder Healthcare in June 2021 as Hospital Director for The Horder Centre. Paul qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1996 and worked clinically for a number of years, achieving a Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, before working in a variety of management roles within the NHS. In his current role, Paul has responsibility for the operational management of The McIndoe Centre, The Horder Centre and our coastal MSK services.
Paul lives locally and enjoys being outdoors with a camera and spending time with his family.

Emma Cansdale joined Horder Healthcare as Head of HR and Estates in February 2018. Emma has over 25 years of broad HR experience across a wide range of industries, including financial services and manufacturing. This wealth of knowledge culminated in Emma being promoted to Director of People and Talent in July 2021.
Emma currently lives in Brighton, and in her spare time enjoys overseas adventures and spending time with family and friends.

Thembi Nkala joined Horder Healthcare in February 2019 as Interim Ward Manager on Dufferin Ward at The Horder Centre.
A registered nurse with 20+ years’ experience across the NHS, private, and not-for-profit sectors, Thembi trained at Kingston University and began her career at St George’s Hospital in cardiac care, advancing to Nurse Practitioner and Department Manager. She later worked at the British Heart Foundation and KPMG before moving into independent healthcare leadership.
As Chief Nurse, Thembi oversees clinical strategy, clinical governance, and leadership, ensuring patient safety and quality care. Passionate about learning, she enjoys reading, travelling, and exploring new things in her spare time.
